Financial Assistance
THE MINT CARES Financial Asssistance Program has partnered with the City of DeSoto, the City of Dallas, and The United Way Metropolitan Dallas to provide rental and utility assistance for households with unexpected financial emergencies.
Qualified applicants must meet certain geographic and income criteria to be authorized for funding. All documents must be submitted with every application before any decision can be determined. For each program's eligibility requirements, click on the corresponding button(s) below. DESOTO RESIDENTS CAN APPLY NOW FOR UP TO $1000.00 OF ASSISTANCE FOR THEIR WATER BILL.

ELIGIBIITY
City of DeSoto Applicants requirements:
- Live in the City of DeSoto
- Impacted by COVID 19
- Meet eligibility guidelines
- NEW AND RETURNING APPLICANTS: Applicants applying for the first time, or applicants needing additional CARES assistance
6 months of Rental and/or Utility assistance available.
NO Mortgage assistance is available at this time.

City of Dallas Applicants Phase 4 requirements:
- Live in the City of Dallas
- Impacted by COVID 19
- Meet eligibility guidelines
- NEW AND RETURNING APPLICANTS: Applicants applying for the first time or Applicants needing additional CARES assistance
- 12 months of rental assistance and utility assistance available
NO Mortgage assistance is available at this time.

ELIGIBIITY
MINTCARES FAP Applicants requirements:
- Live in the Dallas County or Ellis County
- NOT IMPACTED BY COVID 19
- Meet eligibility guidelines
- Has not received any assistance from any other organization within the last 12 months
1 month of rental or mortgage assistance available or 1 month of utility assistance.
